FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Is Flashback Booth really free?

Yes! Flashback Booth is completely free to use. We do not require any subscriptions, there are no hidden fees, and you don't even need to create an account.

What devices are supported?

Flashback Booth works entirely within your web browser. It supports modern versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS devices. All you need is a camera and an internet connection to load the app initially.

Do you put a watermark on my photos?

No. We believe your memories belong to you. We do not apply any watermarks to the downloaded photo strips.

Privacy and Data

Do you save or upload my photos?

No. Privacy is our core philosophy. Your camera feed is processed directly inside your browser memory. We never upload, stream, or store your photos on our servers.

How do the filters work if the data isn't uploaded?

We leverage the HTML5 Canvas API and modern browser capabilities to manipulate the pixels locally on your device's GPU/CPU. The vintage effects are applied mathematically without needing a cloud server.

Usage and Printing

Can I print my photo strips?

Absolutely. The generated strips are high-resolution PNG files (800×2400 pixels). This ratio perfectly matches the standard 2×6 inch photo booth print dimensions. You can take these files to any local or online photo printing service.

Can I use this for my wedding or party?

Yes! Many users set up an iPad or a laptop on a stand at their events. It makes for an incredible, completely free DIY photo booth. You can learn more about how to set this up on our blog.

How do I change the date stamp?

After your photos are taken and you are on the review screen, you can click directly on the date stamp to edit it. By default, it shows today's date in a vintage Quartz Date format.

Digital Time Capsules

What is a Digital Time Capsule?

A Digital Time Capsule is a special feature that allows you to write a heartfelt letter alongside your photo strip. We then seal it inside a beautifully animated digital envelope with a wax seal.

How does the "Unlock Date" work?

When creating a Time Capsule, you can choose a future date (like a birthday or an anniversary). When you share the link with someone, they will only see the sealed envelope and a countdown timer. They will not be able to open the envelope or read the contents until the specific date arrives.
